

The Facility & Sarnia
Sarnia is the largest city on Lake Huron with over 75,000 residents. It provides a small community feel yet is only 100km from the Windsor/Detroit area and equally close to London, Ontario. The city offers a quality of life with extensive parklands, extensive trails, blue flag beaches, a strong arts and culture scene, and the vibrant Great Lakes Waterfront Trail.
The club was founded in 1912.  It is located in the heart of Sarnia and offers a premier private multi-sport facility with golf, curling, pickleball, and exceptional member experiences.  It is the hub of 12 months of recreational activities for the members of the club.
 
Head Professional Duties
The Head Professional will oversee all aspects of golf services, retail operations, and professional staff. The role also provides leadership to our Curling Draw Master, Pickleball Coordinator, Merchandise Manager, Director of Instruction, and the Professional Staff.
Visible, member-facing leadership position responsible for delivering exceptional experiences, driving operational excellence, and contributing to the Club’s long-term vision.
Operational Leadership of Member Services and Engagement 
•    Lead all aspects of golf operations
•    Maintain strong member relationships and a welcoming, inclusive environment.  Onboarding of new golf and sporting members
•    Oversee the Instructional programing ensure to offer PGA programs that encourage prospective members to consider joining our club 
 
Retail Management 
•    Evolve an exceptional retail program showcasing industry leading trends 
•    Purchasing and inventory management to continue to increase retail revenues while maintaining strong profit margins
Tournaments & Events
•    Collaborate with management and club leaders to deliver memorable event experiences 
•    Ensure strong inter-departmental planning and execution of all golf internal and external golf events
Financial & HR
•    Recruit, mentor train all Golf and sports operational staff.  Supporting management in creating a vibrant and engaging workplace culture
•    Partner with Club leadership on budgeting, planning, and strategic initiatives
•    Pro-actively respond to our financial position and offer creative opportunities for financial success
Multi Sports 
•    Provide leadership to curling and pickleball operations, supporting program development


Desired Candidate Profile
•    Relevant experience at a high-quality golf facility.  Have a well-rounded background experience will be an asset. 
•    Passionate and demonstrated exceptional member/guest service.
•    Strong leadership and relationship-building internally and externally.
•    Track record of motivating and inspiring a team towards a common vision with defined goals.
•    Business sense and experience as it relates to golf shop management.
•    Collaborative contributor to the Senior Leadership Team with a facility-wide perspective and focus.
•    Experience in organization & promotion of events / tournaments
•    Been a part of a successful golf academy program. 
•    Ability to tactfully enforce the rules and regulations of the facility and golf


Minimum Qualifications & Skills
•    Class A PGA of Canada professional in good standing with ability to work in Canada immediately.
•    Relevant education and experience 
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office software, Club Management Software and Golf Genius or similar
